How can I lose weight?
Any of our classes can help you lose weight but for faster results, we recommend Hot Yoga, Hot Pilates and Dynamic Pilates which has helped many people lose weight.
What is yoga?
It is a set or sequence of physical exercises (asanas or poses) to strengthen the density of the bones, stretch, lengthen and tone the muscles in the body, improve the lung capacity through breathing exercises and also massage the internal organs.
What are the benefits of yoga?
Yoga offers many benefits to the entire body and mind. It strengthens the cardiovascular system and muscular-skeletal system, improves the immune system, digestive system and the endocrine system, aids in detoxification and relieves stress.
Can I do yoga if I’m not flexible?
You don’t have to be flexible to practice yoga. Regular practice will not only make you flexible, it will increase your strength, improve your coordination and enhance your cardiovascular health.
What is pilates?
Pilates work on the core muscles of the body, particularly the muscles of the abdomen and back.
What are the benefits of pilates?
Pilates help develop strong core and back muscles, build strength and improve balance and coordination.
What do I need to begin?
A willingness to learn and a curious spirit. Wear comfortable sweat pants, leggings or shorts and a top that is not too baggy. Footwear is not required as you will be barefoot.
How many times a week should I practice?
Start with twice a week. The desire to practice will expand when you experience the benefits of your practice.
Why do we have to refrain from eating at least two hours before class?
Food consumed before exercise is only useful once it has been digested and absorbed. This means you need to time your food intake so that the fuel becomes available during the exercise period. The time required for digestion depends on the type and quantity of food consumed. Generally, foods higher in fat, protein and fibre tend to take longer to digest than other foods, and may increase the risk of stomach discomfort during exercise. A general guide would be 3-4 hours for a meal and 1-2 hours before exercise for a light snack.
What are some of the things I should remember before I come for a class?
Call to book your class at least 2 days in advance. This is important as some classes may be more heavily attended than others. Arrive at least 15 minutes before the class commences to register and prepare yourself for the class. You will not be allowed entry once the class commences.
What should I do if I am unable to attend a class that I pre-booked?
Kindly call us at least four hours in advance if you are unable to attend a pre-booked class so we can release the booking to students on the waitlist.
